RE: New Traffic Pattern for LRES

Dear Raider Family,

I trust this communication finds you and your family safe and well. This communication is sent to notify you that beginning Tuesday, October 15, 2024, Lake Roosevelt Elementary School will implement a new traffic pattern for afternoon pick up. This traffic pattern will be implemented to stay in compliance with traffic laws. According to the police, the current traffic pattern impedes the flow of traffic, which is a violation.

It is the intent of the Grand Coulee Dam School District to abide by the law and to ensure a smooth and safe dismissal experience for parents and students. Therefore, students in kindergarten, first and second grades will continue to be picked up in the same location, which is in the normal pick-up zone. However, students in third, fourth, fifth and sixth grades will be picked up on the sidewalk along Central Drive and between Crest and Civic Drive.

Additionally, if you have a student in both of these groups, they may remain on the side of the building as they previously have, with their younger sibling. With this change, we hope to expedite your time in traffic and provide you with a smoother dismissal experience.  Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter.
