    Grand Coulee Dam School District is looking for qualified substitutes to work in our schools! Please visit our Employment site at https://grandcoulee.tedk12.com/hire/index.aspx to apply for substituting in our schools.   • Emergency Substitute Teacher Certification

    To be an Emergency Substitute Teacher, you must have an AA Degree, pass a valid Washington State Background Check and complete the application with the state.  For more information about becoming an emergency substitute teacher please see the attached document.

    Aesop will also make phone calls to substitutes to offer jobs. We have selected the following hours as standard call times when the Aesop service may call: 6:00:00 AM - 9:00:00 AM in the morning and 4:00:00 PM - 9:00:00 PM in the evening.

  • Fingerprint Information

    If you would like to work in our district you will need to be fingerprinted using our pre-printed fingerprint cards.  You can obtain the cards from the district office or they may be mailed to you.  For more information on fingerpinting, please see below.

  • Substitute FAQ

    What is the pay for Emergency/Certificated Substitutes?
    Emergency/Certificated substututes are paid $22.49/hour for the first 30 days then $24.22/hour after 30 days 7 hours per day equals a full day.

    What is the pay for Classified substitutes?
    Classified substitutes are paid at 80% of the classified entry level rate of the job for which they are subbing. These rates vary. The current salary schedule is located below. Certificated/Emergency substitutes may accept Classified assignments with the understanding that they will be paid at the Classified rate.

    Are benefits available for substitutes?

    Substitutes are not benefit-eligible positions.


    What is a “long-term” substitute?

    A substitute teacher having continuous service in exactly the same teaching assignment for more than twenty (20) consecutive days will be paid according to the substitute's placement on the state salary schedule. The substitute will be paid at this rate on a per diem basis beginning with the twenty first (21st) consecutive day in the same assignment, and continuing as long as the substitute remains in that same assignment. In order to determine correct placement on the salary schedule, the Personnel Department must have college transcripts and verification of experience on file. If we do not receive the proper documentation you will be placed at BA0 + 0.

    SafeSchools Online Training:

    An email from SafeSchools will be sent to your email address with the link to your required training: http://gcdsd.wa.safeschools.com/login


    To access the assigned training, click on the web link in the email, enter your username, which is your email address. EXAMPLE:
    Username: yourname@gmail.com

    Select any course by simply clicking on the name of the course. The courses have audio, so turn up the speakers to hear the narration. Complete all the training scenarios and the assessment to receive completion credit for the course.
     
    There is an option to print out a certification of completion once the course is completed. PLEASE NOTE: You do not need to print out and send a certificate to the District Office
