Lake Roosevelt High School Daily Bulletin- May 13th, 2008

Tonight is the “Meet and Greet” for the high school principal candidates. All students and staff are invited to come tonight. It will be held in the high school library at 6:30 pm.

 

Big Bend will be administering placement testing for English tomorrow at 2:00 in the driver’s ed room.  Make sure you bring your application and your money tomorrow when you take the test.

 

There will be no after school program today.

 

Any incoming sophomore or junior interested in going to the Youth Energy Seminar in California this summer can pick up an application from Cathy in Pathways.  Also, there are still a few openings for the tour of Grand Coulee Dam.  The electrical tour is Monday, May 19 and the mechanical tour is Wednesday, May 21.  Preference will be given to upper-classmen.  Pick up your permission slip from Cathy in Pathways.

 

Attention College Bound Students – Your permissions slips are DUE Wednesday to Misty in the library if you plan to attend the Saturday activity.

 

Tennis awards will be Thursday w/ a parent/student tournament beginning after school, barbeque at 5:30, and awards at 6:00 PM.

 

The Native American Club Indian Taco Feed has been rescheduled to Friday, May 16 at 6:00 pm at the Nespelem School.  Club members may continue to sell tickets until May 16.  Turn in your tickets and money on Thursday, May 15 to Debbie in the office. 

 

Art students are showing their work at the Coulee Dam Federal Credit Union.  Stop by to view the show during normal business hours in May.

 

Entry forms for an Essay contest “Why I Love America” are at the office or you can get one from your English teacher.  1st prize is $750.00, 2nd prize is $250.00.  Essays must be turned into the office by the end of the day on May 15th.

 

If you would like to work in the lunch program pick up your application from the office counter.  Applications are due to Lisa by Friday, May 15th.


Attention all softball players  ... Uniforms MUST be turned into Coach Palmer by May 16th.  Please DO NOT turn in uniforms or equipment to Mr. Wilson due to inventory issues.  Contact Coach Palmer to make arrangements for collection or drop off times.

A message brought to you by your Student Council: Starting May 1st – May 29th we are challenging you to achieve PERFECT ATTENDANCE. On the last Friday of May all students with perfect attendance or zero unexcused absences will be allowed to attend the very first LR Reward’s Day! So don’t miss school or be late.

 

Applications for summer school are now available at the office or from Mrs. Nash-Toulou.  Summer school will run from June 16th - July 1st from 8:00-4:00.  The cost for summer school is $200.00.  There are a limited number of seats available and payment must be made prior to the beginning of the session.  Any student who has failed any classes should be considering summer school in order to be on track to graduate with enough credits.
